Easy Natural Products started one winter evening when my husband and CSO (chief scientific officer), Ben, was complaining that he had winter itch after a long day of skiing.  I pointed to my large inventory of smelly lotions on my bathroom sink counter and said, “Use any of one of these thousands of lotions,” and did a graceful display wave.

He quickly replied, “No thanks.  Too many chemicals.”

“But wait, your a chemist.  What?” I was bewildered.  I loved a smelly lotion.

“Right, I am.  Remember the goggles and lab coat?  I don’t willingly put the chemicals on my skin.”

I grabbed a bottle of sun-ripened pearberry breeze from my counter and started reading.  What I found was shocking.  Despite being fully literate in the English language, I could not understand what I was putting on my skin.  What I did understand was the word, “Paraben,” which is a known carcinogen.  What!?  Ben was right.  There were too many chemicals in my smelly lotion.  This opened Pandora’s Box of cosmetics and I decided to start doing things differently.  I made my own lip balm, soap, lotions and potions, one thing led to another and now  I know that the answer is Easy.  Fewer ingredients of the good stuff makes products for your skin that are powerful and good for you!
